Once a farmer had a goose. It used to lay a golden egg everyday. The farmer used to sell them in the local martet and in no time he became quite solvent. But his wife was very greedy. She thought that there were many in the belly of the goose. She wanted to have all the eggs at a time to become rich overnight. One day, she hit upon a plan that she would cut the belly of the goose and get all the eggs of gold. She told her husband about her plan. Her husband, who was wise but not greedy, said to her, "Don't be greedy. Be happy with what we have." But the farmer's wife did not listen to him. She cut the belly of the goose with a sharp knife. But alas! She found no egg in it. Thus, the greedy wife lost his valuable goose.
